I was overjoyed by the camaraderie during our recent Volunteer
Celebration, which took place after this year’s annual meeting at
the Hilton San Diego on Mission Bay! It was an incredible day as we
honored 65 stellar volunteers—including three recipients of the Thanks Badge, our highest accolade for adults (story).
I truly believe that the power of Girl Scouts rests in our
volunteers. It is through them that that we are able to reach more
girls, have a higher impact, and—by delivering the Girl Scout
Leadership Experience—make our community a stronger place.
I was thrilled to have KUSI News Co-anchor Ginger Jeffries as our
emcee. She grew up as a Girl Scout, and it was clear from her remarks
and personal approach that she understands the importance of our
mission and our volunteers.
Thank you to all who made the Volunteer Celebration possible,
including Recognitions Task Group members Liliana Acosta, Jamie
Anderson, Pamela Marvuglio, Lisa Ronco, and Leina
Veniegas-Blatchley—and my amazing staff!
Yours in Girl Scouting,
Carol M. Dedrich, MBA, CFRE
